Memorial Day

We finally got up to the cabin in Montrose for the long Memorial Day weekend. We love it up in the mountains, but with 2 little ones, snowmobile only access in winter, and a longish drive, you can see why we only just made it up. Well, it was a great weekend! Not only did the kids do awesome during the car trips, but they loved the cabin too. :)

Eli couldn't get enough of being outside...collecting sticks for the fire, "helping" daddy and papa chop wood, going on walks to see elk poop and the mountains that God made, eating Smores, pouring water on the fire, it all seemed like one big party to him! On our way home he said, "more cabin please?!" Very sweet.

And as for Maddie, she chose that weekend to find her voice. Almost like a light switch, she started babbling and squealing and generally making very cute noises! She loved sitting on a blanket near the fireplace and playing with her blocks and other toys. But the one thing she loved even more was going for a walk with her big brother. She kicked and talked the whole time as she looked around from the Baby Bjorn. So cute!

All in all, a very fun family weekend. Hooray! :)
