We're super busy right now, so haven't had much time for blogging, but promise to get back to it soon. In the meantime, look how happy Eli is playing with his blocks!

Here's the three of us sitting on the couch in our pjs on Thanksgiving morning. We sat down and wrote out all of the things that we were thankful for in the last year. Obviously, Baby Eli topped the list; however, all of the hard times we went through this past year were on there as well. God showed his faithfulness to us through this past year in TX. It hasn't been an easy year, but He brought us through it and even used the difficult times in our lives to grow us and we are very thankful for that!
The day after Thanksgiving we went to a beautiful wedding celebration for our friends Danielle & Jason. Eli did a great job before and after the wedding, but was not able to enjoy the ceremony itself. However, here's a picture of all of us in our fancy wedding clothes and of Eli enjoying a sparkler!
Thanks to babysitters that treat our son like family! Look at how much fun Eli had on Saturday afternoon. :)
But mom & dad didn't stay away too long...we all had to watch the Broncos game that evening. We didn't get to see it in person, but doesn't Elijah look like he's ready for Colorado weather?!
Here he is sitting up on his own. He still falls forward occasionally, but when he falls to the side he seems to push his way back up.
And, he's crawling...backwards! It's quite amusing to watch because he tries to go get a toy and he starts crawling backwards, getting farther and farther away from what he wants, and then shrieks in frustration. In this picture, he was just having fun moving and he crawled backwards until he was under the couch. :)
Baby Eli is becoming quite the little traveler. We went out to Chicago for a baby shower for Aunt Mar. It was so fun for all the womenfolk to get together and also to show how much Eli has grown! He's turning into quite the little boy, but we're not ready for him to grow out of the baby stage just yet.
Eli and Ellie got to hang out at the shower.
Daddy was very excited to find out that Elijah is not afraid of big dogs. Aunt Mar and Uncle Dan have an English Mastiff named Larry. Eli met Larry for the first time and reached out to grab his nose and pet his fur! :)

Pumpkin carving can be a lot of fun when you take on the task with friends! Our good friends Toby and Jenn came over and brought some cool pumpkin carving tools.
And, look at the results! (John even made a little one for Eli)
One of the displays at the arboretum showed what a Texas town would have looked like "back in the day." Here's the evolution of the covered wagon. ;-)
The plants and gardens were amazing and we got a passer-by to take a quick family pic for us.
Then, of course, there was the pumpkin patch. Elijah was really more interested in the hay that he was sitting on than the pumpkins, but he did at least check them out.

And, we each took turns taking pictures of Eli with one of us. That's what being first-time parents is all about, right? Doting on our son and documenting every single event?? :)

Grandma Penny had to point out the goldfish to Elijah while being very careful not to let him join them in the pond!
Elijah was surrounded by lots of new friends - can you pick him out of the crowd?!
Eli's first outdoor swing ride - mommy enjoyed it just as much as he did :)
