So Thankful...

This season, we are especially thankful for the privilege of parenting 2 children and for God's sovereignty. In the past month or two, we have been reminded on numerous occasions (from situations with numerous families) that we are not in control of our children's lives nor are we in control of our own. God has a master plan and it does not necessarily involve us having an easy time here on earth. Suffering is just as real as the joy that He chooses to provide for us. And, He is more concerned with our character than with our comfort. (who said that one? I didn't come up with it on my own)

With all of that said, we feel very humbled to have been entrusted with the lives of Eli and Maddie for the time being. May He have all the glory in their lives and ours!

On a lighter note, we have been enjoying taking the kids out to see the lights of the season. The day after Thanksgiving, we went to see Main Street light up and our kids' eyes followed suit! They have both been enamored with all of the "Christmas decorations." And, as we prepare our houses for Christmas, we are also attempting to prepare our hearts for the celebration of Jesus' birth. I will try to share some of our advent celebrations along the way...

What are those things on your heads and around your neck? We don't see them here in Singapore. :)
